Program Statement: Prepares young people for a career at sea aboard vessels trading either internationally or in Tongan waters. The program is a 23 weeks and training takes place in a disciplined environment in anticipation that trainees will develop a strong sense of self-discipline, an essential attribute if the graduates are to pursue a successful career in the maritime industry.Candidates will be introduced to the basic skills required by watchkeeping working in the bridge deck, engine control room  aboard ship in order to achieve a better understanding of shipboard life and routines and to maximize employment opportunities.
